Is it Safe and Healthy to have a Multiple Pregnancy?

Published by mitestarossa at 4:25 pm under Pregnancy Edit This

The answer is no.  There has been a lot of press lately about multiple births and reality TV shows.  Don’t start thinking that this may be your claim to fame.

Multiple birth pregnancies are very dangerous for both the mother and the babies.  The more babies, the more dangers.  Many multiple births end with multiple birth defects for the children and sometimes death for the mother.  This is a very risky procedure.  Now days, most reputable doctors will not put more than two embryos into a mother.  They know the dangers.

Sometimes the babies may seem healthy at first and then they have problems later on or learning disabilities.

There is also the cost of diapers, clothing, medical care and formula.  These items can be dibilitating for some families.  It may seem like a parade when you see it on television but in real life, you do not receive as much help as you think and if you do not have five or more in your clan, you will not get much help from anyone.

Can you just imagine how many hands you would need to take care of the group.  You and your husband will not be enough.  Care takers will not be there around the clock, so there will be many hours of the night where you do not have any help at all.
